Never underestimate the strength it takes for someone to be themselves

“Never underestimate the strength it takes for someone to be themselves” this phrase made the base of a very, very special ceremony last week that I had the hour of officiating at. The incredible journey that Clinton and John had been on together was merely touched on, however myself and their closest friends and some family were for very aware of their story and are just so excited that they are married (well in good old New Zealand, anyway)!!! And then they sent me a thank you! Hey Phillipa. We’re back in Aus now but wanted to say thanks again for the ceremony. You were the first piece of the puzzle that was imperative we had before proceeding and could not be happier. Even our friends commented on just how sincere and invested you were on the day. It all still feels surreal to us but wanted to again say thanks Take care. Clinton &...

Tom and Yvette planned an intimate ceremony here in Queenstown, from their home in Auckland, with less than 3 months to arrange it. Their ceremony was held on the Hilton Hotel’s wharf with Yvette’s sister and Fredrik Larrson their photographer as their witnesses, no one else in Auckland knew what was happening! Today they sent me this lovely message as well as this gorgeous photo taken by Fredrik Hi Phillipa, Tom and I would like to thank you so much for being part of our amazing wedding day. From your advice and support in the lead up to our ceremony to the way you made us feel completely ourselves and at ease on the day. You are incredibly talented at what you do and I think you have the dream job … the chance to be surrounded by love in the most beautiful place in the world! Our wedding day was perfect in every way, so much so that it still feels like a dream. We are so unbelievably happy to be Mr & Mrs Knight and we’d like to thank you for everything you have done for us. I’ve attached a photo we have received from Fredrik – … Wishing you a wonderful holiday in Europe, I’m green with...

Something old, something new

Thurlby Domain is where one of the first homesteads in the Queenstown area was located, it is now a beautiful ruin set in a park like setting among some historic trees – perfect for weddings all year round. It was a true privilege to be Shane and Alisa’s marriage celebrant just 4 days before Christmas and to meet their closest family and friends. Today I received this lovely message from them, as well as this beautiful photo which brought back some wonderful memories of their wonderful wedding day. Hi Phillipa It’s hard to believe that our wedding was just 4 months ago. Life has been non-stop since arriving back in Brunei and getting back into the routine of our life here. We are catching up on our emails and wanted to drop a line to say thank you so much for making our day so special. From the moment we were in first contact via email to the rehearsal and wedding day, you were so accommodating to our needs and helpful with advice. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and went the way we had just envisaged! You were an absolute pleasure to work with and we will definitely be recommending you to others. Thanks again, Alisa and...

A thank you from the heart

To have found a role that I have a passion for, in which I am a part of a couples biggest day of their lives together makes me feel fulfilled and blessed, … and then to receive the following message and photo from Mark and Kathryn just tops everything off, very nicely. Thank you to you both for your very kind words. May you have a long and happy life together, my friends. Dear Phillipa, From the moment I saw Phillipa’s smiling face on her internet site I knew that she was the celebrant I wanted. Some months prior to the ceremony my fiancee and I met with Phillipa for a coffee and a chat. We all got on famously from the word go. She was able to give us an idea of what was needed in the ceremony in regards to what would happen, what vows we had to make by law but more importantly she was able to reassure us that we could have the ceremony the way we wanted. We exchanged a number of e-mails during which time she continued to give advice and guidance. She asked some very relevant questions from which she was able personalize the ceremony. (Where and when we met etc.) She...

Keeping it simple!

Two and a half weeks before their wedding day, Petya and Max booked me to officiate at their ceremony. Their next question was where shall we marry? I suggested they put Queenstown Gardens as their location on their licence as it is beautiful and the band rotunda offers some protection from the weather. The day before their ceremony, with their 2 best friends, they scouted the gardens until they found this spectacular location at the very tip of the Gardens. So the moral of the story is… be it simple or elaborate, make your wedding day the day you want, love, laughter and love is all you need! Dear Phillipa, Many thanks for your sweet message. We really loved our trip to New Zealand and are very much looking forward to visiting again some day! It was the best decision to get wed in your beautiful country. Married life has been treating us well. We hope that you are fine and that you had a lovely X’mas and New Year. Wishing you all the best for 2014. Thank you once again for making our marriage a very special one! Best wishes, Petya &...
