When Michelle and Nick booked their heli-wedding with Minetta of The Wedding Company almost 3 weeks before their big day they hadn’t realised how windy it can be in Queenstown in spring. The talented pilots from Heliworks found the perfect spot out of the wind, after a really good look around (I love helicopters, so the more looking the better hehe).NIck’s parents flew in a separate helicopter and were delighted to act as witnesses at their son’s ceremony.
The Notice of Intended Marriage form requires the location of the ceremony to be described on the form so that future generations can research where their ancestors were married. Therefore part of my role, as a marriage celebrant, is to ensure the location is recorded accurately – not always any easy task and I often find myself asking pilots ” So, where exactly are we?” – we live in such a spectacular location and are spoilt for choice – anyone else interested in a heliwedding? Sorry, these photos were taken on my iphone – I am sure Jen from Alpine Images, the official photographer on the day, has much better photos…
