An Aussie Bride, a Kiwi Groom and a Polish vodka ceremony!!

Generally I encourage couples to include rituals in their wedding ceremony, which helps to personalise their ceremony and also ensures their ceremony is even more memorable. I have never taken part in the particular Polish ceremony that Marcus and Carlie chose, it involves 2 shot glasses 1 full to the brim with vodka, the other with water. The bride and groom are to choose a glass and drink it all – without spilling a drop – the person who chooses the vodka is to be the boss! Just watching for the reactions on their faces was enough fun for me – I won’t tell you the end of the story, but it was enjoyed by all:-)

Marcus and Carlie also invited their mothers to light candles during the ceremony, which was a lovely way to include their mothers in their special day.

The ceremony was held in a restaurant overlooking Lake Wakatipu, in the heart of Queenstown, the beautiful candles and flowers set up by Sarah and her team at the Flower Room were gorgeous. My photos are not good, clearly phone photos are not all that good in the dark, so I apologise for the quality – I hope Wayne from Aspiring Photos sends me some of his!
