When 2 aviation enthusiasts marry, of course they would choose a heli-wedding in Queenstown. Rob is a helicopter pilot and Mika has been air crew for over 8 years and has enjoyed occasionally flying light aircraft. They enjoy going on little adventures together and experiencing new food, scenery and people etc.
They met in Miami in 2008 and because they are both in the aviation industry, they are not always able to be together, however they have worked through this together which enabled them to take their next step in the journey of life – their wedding on top of a hill with the Remarkables in the background and Mika’s mother as a witness.To Mika, “marriage means having and giving the comfort of knowing someone who cares will be there by your side always. Having a permanent teammate. To be able to pool your strengths and support the other in times of weakness. To give and receive a sense of security and comfort. And to have someone who you can share a funny story or experience with. A companion for laughs and cuddles!! “ Not all reasons to marry are the same, but many are similar, however I like the way Mika mentioned cuddles, which are very important to her!
