Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence

Millbrook is where I officiated at my first ever wedding ceremony and always holds a special place in my heart. So when Singaporean couple Lisa and Cho chose me as their marriage celebrant and advised they were having their ceremony at Millbrook I was super excited! As you can see from this fabulous photo taken by the very talented Fredrik Larrson of Larsson photography the ceremony was full of love, fun and laughter – I simply love my role!! Hi Phillipa, Thank you so much for the well wishes! We have just received the photos from Fredrik and they’re really awesome! We cannot thank you enough for the beautiful service you conducted on the day. It was an excellent ceremony and certainly a memorable one. Many thanks for your input and last minute guidance 🙂 We would have no hesitation in recommending you and in fact already have! Best regards, Lisa and...

A Lake Hayes wedding followed by a vineyard reception – perfect!

When Jenni and Dave contacted me regarding their wedding, I was so excited as it included many of my favourite elements for a wedding ceremony: love and laughter, family and friends, a beautiful bride and a handsome groom and they are locals! Locals that I now call friends as I have watched their relationship grow and evolve over the time I have known them – and to top it off they thanked me!! Should be the other way round. “I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for helping to make our wedding our perfect day! From the beginning you were so approachable and helpful, and on the day you created the perfect atmosphere for us, by being so professional as well as fun and easygoing. We could not have had a better celebrant! The moment you pronounced Dave and I husband and wife was the best moment of our life together, and we’re so glad you were a part of our day. Wishing you all the best Mr & Mrs...

Queenstown Wedding with miles of smiles!

Winter has come and gone and I have just received this fabulous message from Camille and Luke who married in April in the gorgeous Chapel by the Lake. “I am so SO sorry its taken me so long to get back to you!! Life has been hectic to say the least but we just wanted to say a huge THANKS for being such an amazing celebrant and legally making us husband and wife!! You were so amazing to deal with right from the first email and we just loved the way you made our ceremony so personal to us. You have such a relaxed but professional vibe and you really made the ceremony feel like it was all about us and not like it was run of the mill and something that you do day in day out. We couldn’t of wished for a better celebrant! And I hear you were extremely good at calming Luke down prior to the ceremony (can’t wait to see his panic on the video!!) … Thanks again Camille and Luke Honestly guys, the pleasure was all...

Life is the flower for which love is the honey

Almost a year after Nicole and Alan booked me, they married in the gorgeous Chapel by the Lake at Lake Hayes, almost 20 minutes from Queenstown. As you can see the weather was perfect, the autumn colours were at their best and Nicole and Alan’s love for each other was a blessing to see. They didn’t write their own vows they wrote notes to each other and their words were beautiful. Today I received this lovely message and these beautiful photos. “We wanted to say thank you for helping make our day so wonderful. Married life is treating us well here in Perth, and we are very glad we made the effort to go to beautiful Queenstown for our wedding. Thank you again for all your help and enjoy the photos! Cheers, Nicole and...

Vets Rachael and Edward chose an isolated location near Moke Lake on Closeburn Station for their ceremony as this is where they walk their beloved dogs whilst visiting the area. Their ceremony involved 4wd vehicles, hay bales, 2 of their many dogs as well as lots of love and laughter. Ed’s brother recited a reading titled ‘How falling in Love is like Owning a Dog’, which was perfect. Dear Phillipa   Thank you for doing such a wonderful job at our wedding. It was absolutely lovely to work with you and we were both pleased to find such a relaxed easy-going celebrant for our wedding day.   Thank you very much,   Cheers   Rach and Ed Hunt Timaru based Rachel Callander was their photographer, Rachel was crowned the NZIPP Wedding Photographer of the Year in 2011 and you will see from these photos the reason for...

Marie-Louise and Uan chose the gorgeous Trelawn Place for their wedding ceremony, not only because of it’s spectacular views but also because it overlooks the Shotover River – the same river their home overlooks! I was delighted to be asked to share their special day and a lot of energy went into ensuring every little detail was perfect – and it was! Today I received this lovely message from Marie-Louise – believe me Marie-Louise, the pleasure was all mine! Dear Phillipa, What a magical wedding day we had!! The people, the weather, the celebrant, the food, the music, the ambiance… It all came together in 1 day… OUR DAY! Friends and family complemented us on the personal ceremony so beautifully brought by you! To us it meant so much, as the ceremony was us in every word.
